Watch time pass while observing the science of physical energy and the power of machines. -- A battery-operated motor lifts a steel ball bearing onto a durable concentric track at regular intervals. Here it moves with others on a slow downward course, both halted and propelled by 'see-saws' that tip when correctly weighted. Correct time can be read by observing the numerals that the balls are aligned with - hours and minutes are both indicated. -- This intriguing conversation piece is encapsulated in a clear, impact-resistant case. The base measures 10" x 6", the clock mechanism stands 8" high. -- Powered by a 6V AC adapter (not included) or via 4 "C" batteries (not included).

Helix: 14 3/4 long, 9 1/2 inch diameter

My dad has one of these from the 60's or 70's... somewhere in there.
But his doesn't take batteries, plug in, or anything. It works strictly by gravity.
They're so interesting! lol

I'd love to get one of my own!
He put his away and won't get it back out, because he's scared it'll get broke. :(

According to the laws of physics, what you said is impossible. It might continue to work for a while, but it will have to stop in a matter of time.
on 02/17/13
Whoa, that's cool!
on 01/27/12
I've wanted this for so long. Edmund's Scientific has this for like 50 or so bucks.
on 01/27/12
Guess for Swagbucks 7,289 isn't too bad.
on 05/27/12

7289 SBs is like $80 bucks in amazon $5 gift cards....
on 09/04/12
If those figures are correct, we're paying over $600 for a $5.00 Gift Card =o(
on 11/04/12
If you look at the gift card costs, 1 swagbuck= 1 penny in real money. We pay 500 swag bucks for a $5 gift card, that's 500 pennies or $5.00. Therefore 7,289 swag bucks is $72.89

on 04/17/12
if your in vacation when something you get comes do they leave it at ur door? just wonderin
on 05/04/12
That's up to any arrangements you have with your local Post Office. Our P.O. holds our packages unless we physically receive them due to discussing it with the delivery manager. If you're on vacation, you can always ask your mail to be held for specific dates.
on 01/27/12
I think this is a great addition to the store, but I don't like that I immediately have to buy an AC adapter for something that might not end up working right. People reviewing it elsewhere say that the clock needs to be reset often due to running slow. That's not something you'd make up.
on 01/28/12
Yea it's mostly a novelty item, neat but still a novelty nevertheless.
