Don't get this, unless you are prepared to WAIT and make LOTS of phone calls to RCCL!

We planned a cruise for the end of September, and I bought a $100 gift card in mid-August, which arrived in my Swagbucks account the third week of August. I immediately followed RCCL's procedure for applying this to my cruise reservation. I made a screen shot of the gift card and emailed that to the RCCL email address that the cruise line indicated was the correct one.

Then I waited. And waited. After two weeks, I telephoned "Customer Service" at RCCL. Was put on hold three times, then transferred to Resolutions, where I was put on hold again. Finally, after 20 minutes, I was told it would take another three business days before the gift card would credit to my account.

I have my fingers crossed that the card will credit. Moral: If you are making a cruise reservation for a cruise six months in advance, and don't mind nail-biting, buy this card. Otherwise, why not just redeem your Swagbucks for a credit that will apply in a few days for something else - a gift card for a restaurant, a hotel you like, Amazon, or even gas cards?

Do these ever expire? I plan to use this in 2018.

Does anyone know how many gift cards can be used towards a cruise?

My husband and I used these gift cards to pay for a 10-day cruise out of Baltimore. It took several phone calls to get it all straight, and even then no one really knew what they were talking about. This was our experience:
1. You have to pay for your deposit by credit card/cash or some other way, you cannot use the Swagbucks for the deposit. You also have to do it through the gift card people at RCCL - don't do it on line, like through Travelocity. I think we did it through the gift card people and then transferred the reservation to Direct Line Cruises so that we got free travel insurance (not sure about that, I know we talked to someone about it and I know we did not pay for trip insurance).
2. When it is time to pay off your cruise, you send copies of the gift cards to wherever - it was some special place at RCCL, can't remember exactly where, but they give you that information when you book the cruise.
3. You cannot use the gift cards to prebook excursions; however, we used them to pay the taxes, port charges and prepaid gratuities.
4. We tried to use them for on board credit, but that was just credited back to our credit card, even though we were told that we could.
5. All in all, a 10-day cruise (ocean view) for 2 people including taxes, port charges, and prepaid gratuities, cost us about $700 total ($900 but they credited us $200 when they returned the on-board credit we tried to use gift cards for.

I would definitely do it again as having done it once, it is not quite so scary. Good luck!

I called RC and "theoretically" you can use as many as you want. They didn't have a definite answer since they aren't affiliated with Swagbucks.

I just called and found out that you can use them to pay for a cruise. You have to make sure that your very first payment that you make when you first book the cruise is with a credit card. After that you can use the gift cards to pay for your cruise. If you call RC and it sounds like you're talking to someone who's confused about how all this works, hang up and call someone over in the Gift Card call center. They have a special place set up just to deal with gift cards since it's becoming more popular.

And did you actually use them to pay for your cruise? Are they only good on certain ones? Did you find any restrictions other than the initial payment being on a credit card?

I earned a $50.00 gift card and Royal Carribean told me it would take up to 3 months! to credit my reservation. Has anyone else had this problem?
