Which of these best describes how much effort you usually put into getting a good deal? Submitted By sparkly0578, IL
I shop around as much as possible before buying something.
I run a web search for the best price and that's it.
I check a few places I know sell what I'm looking for.
I wait until things are on sale.
I do more than one of the above.
I just buy what I need from stores I like.

Figured out the other day that our local gas station has gallons of milk $.30 cheaper than dollar store and fareway store. My family goes thru 2+ gallons a week so now we're buying it from the gas station to save the $.60/week and they have little punch cards where if you buy 10 gallons you get a $1 off the 11 gallon. When you don't have enough money to buy groceries when you need them, you learn to find ways to save as much as you can when you finally go to the store.

A couple years ago when milk was almost $5 a gallon we did some serious shopping around. We go through between 4 and 6 gallons of milk a week (family of 5) depending on what we are eating so at $5 a gallon milk was getting pretty expensive.

I will spend more $ if I can support a locally owned business. Keeps the $ in my town. Helps my friends & neighbors. Seems fairly obvious, if one has long view.

You never know where you can find the next saving. I remember I found a box of cards I wanted for sixty dollars but when I looked a bit more, I found it for forty dollars at an also just as safe website. Its worth a try to search around.

Do you use it all or does it sit in a room and go to waste? Just asking because I see the extreme coupon show and its horrible how a lot of people will buy so much stuff and don't even use it.
TericDragon
on 10/18/13
But some of them actually donate a lot of what they get. I've donated plenty of times when I get more than I need through great couponing & price-matching. I also have things set aside that my kids can give for canned food drives in scouts or at school, as well as our local food bank that asks for a different item each month. This month, it's shampoo and peanut butter. Check, and check. :-)

Not me. If it's at one store that is closest to me for $5 more, I'll spend the $5 to avoid city traffic. Some things are just not worth saving the money for. :-/ I'm weird like that.

You will never see politicians worried about sales/deals. Maybe this is why our national debt is astronomical... just a thought. Instead of hiring those with degrees they should hire super couponers and those who are 'deal finders'. Add a few legal experts and kick out all the morons... we might actually have an intelligent and livable country once again. Cheap is never a deal when products are made overseas... they can be made here. OUR citizens... employed... our money STAYS in our country/economy. Hey just a thought.

I've personally thought about starting a blog or vlog like that, but I didn't know if there would be interest! I love fashion, but hate to spend. I recently got $360 worth of clothes for $130. So I think I'm decently good at it. I always wondered if people would like me to share tips and coupons and how to put together nice outfits and stuff like that. :)

The easiest way to find out ( to borrow from Nike) is to "just do it". No one ever starts at the top. Get it started, and keep at it, trust me..someone out there has similar enough fashion sense to yours to like it.
I started a vlog about fish in a tank....before I knew it, I had over 1 million hits....and the subscribers keep coming....I mean..who really cares about fish in a tank? More people than I thought....

Got the registration number so I know it's real..anyways I'm gettin off topic..you can have your cake and eat it too. There is nothing wrong with second hand stores as long as you don't buy cheap.

I do a lot of thrift shopping. Many times, I get new items with the tags still attached.
Last time I thrift shopped, I was looking for a purse. I found one that was the style I was looking for withing 10 minutes of entering the store. A lol less time than searching the web for deals.
