I feel sad that so many have closed. There was a large one fairly close to where I grew up and it was a very sad day indeed when they closed, sold the land and a large corporation built a huge building on the site. Thankfully, I live very close to a thriving one now and I really enjoy going once or twice a year.

There are a couple of them still here in PA. Becky's Drive in and Shankweilers. Becky's is definitely my fave with 2 screens that show different double features!!! :)

WHAT WONDERFUL MEMORIES!I REMEMBER HOW MUCH FUN AND EXCITEMENT THE DRIVE IN MOVIES WERE WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER!! I actually have not seen, or even heard about a drive in movie for many years, and I truly thought that they were no longer out there! Going to a drive in movie was so so much fun, especially when a boy would ask me out on a date to a "DRIVE IN MOVIE" ... sometimes I wonder; "What happened to all of the ole' time fun stuff?"... Now a days, with all of the new technology out there, most people stay home an rent movies on there own TV, I think that people barely go to a regular movie theater much, at least from the people that I talk to.Gee,I seriously did not think drive-in movies still were out there! Thanks for the heads up....I know what my family will be doing the next time that we schedule our family night! Yeahhhph! We will be hitting the drive-in movies, that is if we can find one close enough to go to at a reasonable price!wwhhooooo! Thanks Swag bu

Unfortunately this is a dying institution - there is currently a drive to save some of these - I would love a vote for the Midway Drive-In in Sterling, IL if you're so inclined - so I can keep saying yes to this poll!! http://projectdrivein.com/#vote_80

There's one in the somewhat small town I grew up in. It's the only thing I like about this area. Otherwise, I recently found out there's one about an hour away from the area I want to live so I could have the best of both worlds. Now, if my husband could only find another job up there.

I use to go to the drive-in-movies a lot growing up as a child with my family. Then when I was a teenager when on dates at the drive-in-movies.

The one and only drive-in theater I went to was when I was...9? maybe. We watched Encino Man with Pauley Shore, lol. It wasn't much longer that this particular drive-in shut down. Interestingly, the screen was too asbestos-filled to safely be torn down, so the new owners of the property (Lowe's) decided to just leave it and paint their logo on it!

my towns drive in is a landmark, but unfortunately ppl just dont do drive ins anymore, its dying but trying to be run by a bunch of college students. im honestly surprised ppl go to the movie theaters at all, considering Netflix and On Demand stuff. just a trip to see Batman, oh sorry "the Dark Knight", ends up being a 50$+ experience.

My town still has one and it's always fun. They are trying so hard to keep it open, but I fear it won't be around much longer. :(

My town still has one. It looks a bit deserted though. If the mosquitoes weren't so bad, I'd go when Planes comes out for my son's first movie.

A while back I found out that I have over ten drive-in theaters in New York State! I'm twenty seven but grew up & have lived in New York city my entire life. I knew there were still drive ins in existence but I didn't know my state had so many that were still in business! :) I'm trying to find the time to make a trip so I can finally experience one.

Drive-In movie theaters are the best!! My favorite way to go see a movie :) I'm glad to have a few near me. We go to them many times throughout the summer. If you have never gone, check online to see if any exist near you-you may be surprised at how close one is to you.
