FIRST I would pay my tithe, give God His 10%, then I would definitely pay off a few bills and if I had anything left I would save.

Combination of savings and vacation: I'd put it in a savings account so I can put it TOWARDS a vacation. I'm not sure who's boring and/or budget enough to take a vacation on $1,000 but it would need to wait for nine or ten of its $1,000 friends to join it before it can hit the road.

My last vacation was Chicago, St. Louis, Seattle, Portland, Anchorage, Denali, Fairbanks, Whittier AK, Juneau, Prince Rupert BC, Jasper AB, and Toronto. In that order.
