maybe they r smart and have done some research. maybe they arent buying into being dictated to as to when to do an act of kindness for their mother IF they have one. maybe they are not sheep. maybe they are educated and know this FAKE holiday has been distorted into a commercial frenzy and its original "plea for peace' has been lost-which is sad

I made an artificial flower arrangement for her headstone in the cemetery. That should have been an option, too. Many of us no longer have our physical parent(s). I'll do the same for father's day and also my sister's birthdays. I always have flowers for each season, but do something special for birthdays and holidays just like when they were still with me.

No Mothers day is a FAKE holiday the origins were "a plea for peace" and had Nothing to do with buying spree or guilt trip. so everyone should treat their mom good every day unless she is very bad one. Mothers day actually has NOthing to do with giving gifts-Peace

Mom is gone. No space for that on the survey. I used to buy Mom outdoor bushes and plant them for her. She liked that more than cut flowers.

I sent her hydrangeas in a little birdhouse so she can use both of them in the future. She loves to plant things so these flowers will last beyond this week.

My mother suddenly decided to become a Jehovah Witness (in her late 60's) so I didn't get her anything as she would of been annoyed because Jehovah Witness's don't celebrate holidays.

When my parents were alive ( Lost my Dad in Oct. & my Step-mom in Feb) they had a couple of garden beds, on Mothers Day I would always send some kind of veggie plants & marigolds to fill them up, but it was for Fathers Day too. It was always something that could be planted.

there should have been an option for mom's no longer with us because the no answer makes it sound like you just don't care about your mom when that is not the case. My mom has been gone for 15 years and I still miss her like it was yesterday. Love you mom.

Establish a memorial in your yard or house (if you don't have a yard). Plant a tree at a school or park. You can create a place of your choosing where to remember your mother who is still in your heart. If you have children, look for a sign of your mom there, too. Take care.

That's a nice idea. I never get to visit my dad, because I currently have no car and it's a car trip. But I guess I do do this kind of thing fairly often, though not to any one specific place. Although maybe it doesn't count the same if it's not a specific place? Sometimes I do give a little kiss to his door.

My father passed on about 18 months ago. I see him in people's faces here. It's a suburban to rural area, so there are a lot of active elderly men with a nice smile for others. My mom is 3,000 miles away, so I send her flowers several times a year cuz she LOVES fresh-cut flowers. I see my mother's face in the mirror every day and in her grandmother's face in a family photo from 1908 with my grandmother's parents and siblings. I'm lucky that way.

Found a unique print with a special prayer at a local antique store, bought a frame and matted the print. Gave her a card to go with it. We purchased a clay flower pot, my children painted it and searched out magazines for words that reminded them of her or described her and covered the flower pot with the words. They sealed the glued on words with Modge Podge. She loved it! These were inexpensive gifts but heartfelt!
