1.25 swag bucks/dollar. 1 swagbuck= 1 penny. $100 = 125 swag bucks. 125 swagbucks = $1.25 = 1.25% return. Yayyyyy.... not.

Hope SB reads and realizes that credit cards are not fit for the majority of SB users, especially for ones in debt and are here to minimize debt rather than increase it.

you shouldn't speak for people you do not know. just because someone is a member of SB doesn't mean they are fiscally irresponsible or ignorant.

I didn't imply that they are "fiscally irresponsible or ignorant." If I thought that the majority of SB users were in debt, I wouldn't have added "especially."

Considering my current Visa is a 1 cent to 1 dollar rewards program, the Swagbucks card with its 1.25 SB per dollar spent actually sounds pretty tempting. Especially if I go after those $5 Amazon gift cards afterwards. ;)

Swagbucks (or rather, Prodege LLC) is a lead-gen site mostly involved in marketing. Credit cards contain a detailed record of my purchasing habits. I prefer to keep the two very much separated by as large a margin as I can. Signing up for the latter from the former is absolutely out of the question.

It's more than that though that bothers me about credit cards. It's the bogus late fees. It's the games they play. It's the stealing my tax payer dollars.

how do tax payer dollars get stolen by a credit card?? if you pay your bills on time, there are no late fees. I have NEVER paid a late fee on a credit card and have been using them for over 20 years.

Make that a prepaid debit card and you got a deal.. Me credit cards , interest, and debt don't mix well.... In case you haven't figured it out yet SB,,, Most of the people on this site are looking to make a little cash on the side ( which means a lot of us are frugal penny pinchers and trying to use Sb as a way to buy things that are coming out of my pocket.

Just don't spend more than you can afford to pay off when the bill comes due and then there's no problem with using a credit card!

Right! and no interest, either. Those who said they got a late fee if payment wasn't received, when did you send it in? I send in my payment exactly 7 days before due date (mark the date on my calendar) and NEVER have gotten a late fee!
triathlon29
on 08/07/13
I sent it in with plenty of time. They "lost" the check. Then I checked out some websites only to find out that Citibank "loses" lots of peoples checks.

Granted yes this is a different bank, but not thank you to the headache of a credit card when I can just pay cash or use a debit card.

don't send checks-bank online, then you have your own bank's records to back you up. I had the electric company try to charge me a late fee, but I went online and proved they received the payment on time so they removed the fee.

But here's where I win, I don't have to check records to find payments and sit on hold for 15 minutes only to get a rep who I can't even understand.

I just pay cash and avoid the stress and hassle.

I have rewards cards and they're great. you just have to make sure you pay them in full every month (think before you charge!). last month I got a $30 Omaha steaks gift card and a $50 statement credit from one, a $25 statement credit from another, and a $20 check from another. I very rarely pay any interest (maybe $10/year at most all together) so it was all "free" money and took about a year to accumulate.

Once they make the deal as good as other cards, then I will apply. Unfortunately, their offer of 1000 SB ONLY after first use, makes it a deal that I will not do. I suggest that they give an offer of so many SB on acceptance (like others), then another after first use. :)

I'd love to have an SB credit card, but I'm doubtful that I would qualify as I'm working to improving my credit health most credit based cards require a specific credit score for acceptance

I don't want risk blemishing my credit further if I'm declined, I would only consider applying if the cards credit score requirement's were clear & reasonable, when I viewed the application the credit score requirement was not listed unless I misread or didn't see it, that said I think it's awesome that Swabucks is now offering their own credit card & maybe I'll apply at a later date when my scores are at a higher number.
