I'm already at that point where I don't hear new music anymore. I just hear all of my favorites from when I was younger. I'm gonna try to listen to more music from now though to hear what all the kids are into nowadays.

My sister gave me a transistor radio for Christmas back in the early 60s. Started with rock 'n roll. Progressed to hard rock and some metal. Still listen to Classic Rock, 100.3 "The Buzz", and classical music (sometimes when I need to wind down).

I'm an old fart who was a teenager in the 60s, and I do listen to 60s music a lot. Also enjoy some contemporary smooth jazz, classical, and Christian music.

I listened to music on vinyl BEFORE it was retro and hipsterish. And the reason I did it was because that was how music came— sure, the tech-obsessed people had their fancy cassette tapes, but we didn't bother with that stuff.

That's not what it means to a lot of people!! I always knew it as F*** the world! Maybe I hung around too many negative people growing up?

That's interesting Fuzzy. I've never seen "ftw" as "f*** the world" but as "For the win"; I think the later is more recent though so maybe the original intent changed over time.

Ironically, I really only still listen to my parents music that I grew up listening to. I still listen stuff I discovered in high school but even a lot of that stuff is over twenty five years old now. I'm not sure if it's entirely because of them or I just tend prefer older stuff? I'm thinking it's a bit of both.

I'm listening to Pierce the Veil, my favorite band form 2009. I can say that this is the only band I still like from when I was young.

I listened to country when I was little because that's what my dad listened to, but he doesn't even like most new country artists and I stopped liking it when I was still pretty young. Garth Brooks was my favorite though. I still listen to classic rock, especially Led Zeppelin, CCR, Jimi Hendrix, and Rush, which both of my parents listened to a lot when I was young.
