I agree. EN is very slow to earn and sbtv is so messed up the ads never play etc. And both will play 2 adds or 2 videos yet only credit one. It's a internet company surely they have a department devoted to this and could get it done right.............

You need a smartphone depending on what job you have. When I worked at the convention center you needed a scanner for apps in order to get into meeting rooms and valuable information that you could not get because the group went all techno to save on 'green and paper.' YES you needed a smart phone just to do business. It was a hassle because I had to show people how to use android and IOS phones how to do the apps and they didn't work half of the time even though it was required.

Ironically the fact that we are so technologically connected now is making everyone more disconnected personally these days, and it's a crying shame. It's pathetic that when you are going out to dinner with your family, that everyones face is stuck buried in their smartphones, and everyone who is out in public doesn't converse with anyone because they can't hear anything due to blasting loud music directly in their minds from earbudes connected to the Ipods. Kids stay home and waste hours on XBOX or PS3 and 4. In my day we went outside to play sports with our friends, or fishing with relatives, even had a swing outside for the kids, and we built treehouses. I miss the world the way it used to be.

I don't typically converse with strangers because it doesn't seem anyone wants anything to do with me, and it's not like I wouldn't enjoy it. I guess it's where you are, you might be in one of our major cities.

If people would listen to music less, we would be better off (I even see people on bikes!) And they may be more at peace, I don't really go in public anymore with it just seems like a pain.

Video games are for downtime, really. Who doesn't want at least a little alone time? Don't tell me you didn't ever get or think about that in your day!

As others have said, sometimes you DO need a smartphone. My husbands company dispatches units using a phone app; without one, he's not be able to work.

I use my phone to earn when I'm at home because I have a limited data plan, and I'd rather use my home Wi-Fi for the SBTV type stuff than the data. If I'm out, I'd rather actually use my data plan for important things, like GPS so I can find my way out of that wet paper bag I got stuck in >.<

There's only one option for yes, but three for no. I have only used the swag app a couple of times and mostly when I am home or at a friend's house with wifi. I won't use the data in my plan for it while waiting in line. We have wifi where I work, but it takes a few minutes to log in and it will randomly log you out all the time, so it's too much trouble! I would like to say "yes, occasionally".

I used to bring my Kindle Fire or laptop to use while waiting for appointments or after (for transportation) and use WiFi... but this asked specifically about phones. I have a smartphone without a plan, so I use WiFi at home... but I never bring it with me when I'm out. (I use a dumbphone. I'm going to get a smartphone when I switch carriers to one that has unlimited data, but it wasn't worth $15 or $20 to only have 200mb of data on my current carrier. VIVA COMPETITION! I have a small bank that actually gives customer service and will have a mobile carrier that won't nickel and dime me!)

Stupid phone here. Getting annoyed at all the things I can't do because I don't have the right phone. And is it really worth an extra $600 a year plus $250+ for the phone?

on 10/22/13
If it seems better to you. Pay for a phone outright, like iPhone 5 at Walmart for starting $649. That means no contract. Then get on their StraightTalk plan which costs a card. The card costs $45, unlimited web, text, and data, available at Walmart.
lotusenta
on 10/22/13
There are also certain cell phone companies (well, really only one that I know of, and that's t-mobile) that will allow you to make a payment plan for a smartphone, with no contracts AND the "loan" they give you for the phone is without interest. Add to that the fact that you can do so much other stuff with the phones, and not JUST Swagbucks stuff, it really is worth it. And T-mobile has both Androids AND the iPhone now, so you have lots of choices. (And their customer service is just amazing.)

Yes, it's worth it. My droid only cost about $100, not the $250 you think it should cost. The upgrade from our old plan was only $40 a month for two phones, which we saved that much and more by dropping our cable service since we can now use our phones connected to the tv for Netflix. All in all, our monthly expenses have not gone up, and we got smartphones out of the deal.

If you have a couple people who all want a cell phone, check out the Walmart Family Plan.

You can get a decent Android from them for $50-$100. Service for everything unlimited (call, text, and Internet) for $40 a month. Each additional everything unlimited line is $35.

If you want the unlimited calls and text only, it's $30 for the main line and $25 for each extra of that kind. You can add up to 5 lines and anyone can be the main one, regardless of whether they want everything or just the texts/calls.

You might want to shop around. You can get Virgin Mobile service for $35/month, and also buy one of their Android smart phones on Amazon for less than fifty dollars. (The Kyocera Event). I have a two year old LG phone with V-Mobile and it is great for earning extra SBs (when the app works, that is, lol).

Not really. Also it depends on what phone you get. Iphones cost around that much but I heard some androids will barely cost you 100 (and that includes the phone.)
