I don't have a Blu-Ray player and barely use the DVD player. I do still have a VCR which also doesn't get used much. LOL! When I'm looking at a screen, I'm either watching something that's been downloaded or is simply streaming. :)

I don't think my vision is good enough to tell the difference in quality honestly. Besides with all the options for streaming video out there they both seem like a waste of space!

Well I don't know but I don't understand the concept of blu-ray, anyways... What is so special about it?

The storage capability and speed allows for greater quality video.

Blu ray has better quality, and sometimes when there is dust the DVD stops. Blu rays can play through most damages with cracks and scratches being the exception
ShawnaC123

Yeah, for used ones. I buy them for two or three bucks used a couple months after they come out on DVD.

I primarily watch movies saved as .iso files on my hard drive w/ a Micca hooked up to the TV. There should be an "other" option. In fact, "other" should be a standard option on ALL Daily Polls.

Blue Ray only because I got a good deal on a 3D tv and blue ray player. The quality is awesome but it sucks having to repurchase everything

Blue-rays are not better than dvds to the point of buying a new player or switching all together.

I don't care enough about movies and TV to even worry about it. My husband does but I don't. We do what we can afford but don't let it bother us. Too many other things to do then watch TV.

I'm sticking with DVD's and not going to Blu-Ray because within 5 years there will be new technology out there that will be even better than Blu-Ray. You just wait and see. I bet it will be smaller to store the data, and the device player will also be smaller. Of course, all this will come with a price tag that will be higher (most likely).

Not all of us have the money these corporations think we do to keep buying the same movies over and over again.
