I get fat during the holidays lol. I like to take a break from running while I visit family. Probably why I'm sick now though sigh.

SixSamuraiYaichi is right. Also, don't think just because you are thin you're immune to diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. I've been heavy a good chunk of my life and have not suffered from these ailments but I have thin family members, most with horrible diets who do. We have to take care of ourselves, we only have one body.

Um...do you understand what you're saying? There is much more to exercise then to get thin. How about the more important reason? To have a healthy and strong body?

I use to exercise often throughout my life for both medical & fitness reasons, but over the past year I've slacked off, I just got tired of having to workout so often

I can't lie it's nice not to have to workout so much not that I don't feel a little guilty for not working out but I just got tired of thinking about it. I know eventually I'll have to go back to working out regularly though in the mean time I'm enjoying life and not so focused on working out.

If exercise is an activity that you have to specifically do, then you won't make a routine of it (unless you have above-average willpower). The trick is to arrange your life so that exercise is something you happen to do while going about other tasks. In my case, my exercise comes from walking places; that's not exactly feasible in a white flight exurb, but frankly living in one of those hellholes is a mistake bigger than failing to get enough exercise.
morimunda
on 12/26/13
I try to walk for an hour everyday. Some days I can only get thirty, other times fifteen but I try to move. It's really hard for me but once I get started it's easier to keep going usually. I've lost forty pounds this way. Been heavy a good chunk of my life, I'm hoping I can lose the extra weight once & for all.

Considering I have to walk everywhere I need to go, I more or less keep the same routine except when it's winter.

During weekdays, I walk for about 30 minutes. Other than that, I don't get much exercise. I'm skinny, so I don't need it that much. I would like to start lifting again, but I can't because any weight lifting or intense work outs are extremely painful because of bad back pain.

Keep it healthy by trying to exercise all year around. I play ice hockey so that helps my cause a lot. I hit the gym 45 minutes of cardio each morning and my day is begun. It's not too hard and it isn't a huge price to pay in time to keep myself healthy as I can. Especially with a couple extra cookies here and there. :)

you know most of us don't need exercise like me considering I have never been able to gain any weight at all. And the people that do need a lot of exercise they need to take a step back and watch what they are eating, and diet themselves. I have a 2 year old daughter, a 1 year old boy, and 6 month old twins. And I'm now having triplets, which won't have the room. Think before putting because you just might offend someone. I can't keep weight on at all.

"Think before putting because you just might offend someone. I can't keep weight on at all." You say this after putting down the original reply? Did you every consider overweight people who work very hard to get healthier but have issues that keep them from doing it quickly, if at all? "take a step back and watch what they are eating, and diet themselves." I applaud ANYONE who makes positive permanent changes.. human beings were not meant to 'diet'... that's a temporary thing. So to recap, you are offended because you can't keep weight on, yet those of us who have trouble getting (or keeping) weight off need to watch what we eat and diet.. and THAT isn't offensive? Nice.

I have a thin build and have trouble gaining weight as well, but I still exercise. Exercising isn't always about losing weight; in fact, muscle weighs more than fat. Diet is important, but everyone is encouraged to exercise every once in a while regardless.

Same here. I don't keep weight on and it is difficult to build muscle for me, but I do yoga for overall health and to keep chronic Lyme symptoms under control. Exercise helps both mind and body :)

You might want to look to yourself, there, Skippy. "Haha, you have to work out. I'm so awesome, I don't need to exercise at all, even if I eat nothing but junk food!" Some of us exercise for an hour a day, see a doctor regularly, eat healthy, and still cannot get into shape. Once you take a break from pumping out babies, see how your body handles losing the baby weight, THEN come talk to us. I used to be able to eat anything without exercising, but having kids changes things. Good luck.

Usagiangel, If you're responding to lesileelyn's comment, then you need to pay greater attention or supply more oxygen to the brain. Because she stated she had "pumped out babies". She even said she's now having "triplets". How could you miss that? So she can TALK to you and offer advice to others like you. How about you read comments accurately THEN reply. Amazing.
