I'm a girl. I'm not allowed to ask men out. Women who do are automatically too forward.

I will never ask a guy out, and if a guy asks me out, I'll turn him down. Dating is the wrong way to go.

dating is actually the right way to go..other than that I agree with your statement. for me i just feel weird asking a guy out so i wait for him.
also dating helps you get to know the other person. unless you meet online how else are you going to get to do that. and even if you met online i think its better to get to know them in person as well

You know, she could've meant that she would rather go out with a guy she already knows as a friend, rather than meeting a complete stranger.

Here's some wisdom; no guy wants to be with someone who doesn't get attention. If your girl can walk down a dark alleyway at night in a bad neighborhood and come out completely unscathed, you have a raggedy chick. Otherwise, you should be concerned for her well-being.

Even raggedy elderly women - and boys - get beaten and raped in better circumstances than that. Looks have nothing to do with it.. You should be concerned for everyone's well being, and I would be concerned for anyone who thinks going down a dark alleyway in a bad neighborhood at night is a good idea. Some people choose NOT to be the center of attention. Life is not about clothes, make-up and hair. Looks don't last. Plenty of men can't stand women who are fake.

on 06/18/13
Girls: we don't give a sh** if you 'like being single' or have 'turned down a lot of boys'. Posting that on a website like this just shows how little confidence you have and how pathetic you are to seek attention on the Internet. Just my thoughts.

Why don't try being open minded instead of being anti-sociable? No matter how independent we are, we need someone to have fun with. Just allow yourself to have fun with the guy. Good luck.
leogirl817
on 06/23/13
Not everyone needs a significant other to have fun with. We all have friends that we can enjoy ourselves with. Everybody is different, and people just need to learn how to accept that and stop pushing "societal norms" onto others.

Differing connotations. Generally, "wanna go out with me?" means "want to go steady?" in today's parlance.

After 32 years of marriage, I can't remember either. I met him first when I was 13 but he said I was too young. He was 16. Then I met him again at 23 I guess I was old enough then! We got married a year later.

We should give different people a chance. We should try to think outside the box and never be judgmental to people we don't know. Life is too short to have fun alone. Sharing interests is seriously caring.

I'm usually the one to get asked out but I have asked guys to go out before. What I've noticed after years of dating is,all the men who have ever asked me out always ended up be controlling, abusive and selfish. And all the men I asked out ended up being too clingy, wimpy and often times lacked the masculinity I desired in a partner. I thought to myself that I would never find the right man but I was wrong. I am now married to a wonderful man who happened to be right in front of for years. :)
