"Unless you have to get up at 3 a.m. why aren't you watching the 11 p.m. news?" What are you, 50 years old? The news isn't a reliable news source.

So many people picked "Rarely"? I understand people have to go to work, but good Lord! How do you function without it? I mean, you need to know the traffic (at least in Los Angeles), weather, and if your children's school has been on lock down these days! Unless you have to get up at 3 a.m. why aren't you watching the 11 p.m. news? Are you watching online news? I am completely perplexed by these responses!!

I read the newspaper. :) I get my weather there or online at weather.com. I work from home and my child is not old enough to be in school yet so no need of traffic updates and/or school lock downs and if the school was on lock down they would call me. I will watch the news if I happen to see a preview and am interested in the story and don't want to wait for the morning paper or don't think that it will make it to the paper.

The news is a waste of time. On a slow news day it wastes your time, and on a big news day (Boston City Marathon?) the information is wrong and meant to deceive. The way I look at it, if something is really worth knowing about, I will hear about it anyway. I never watch this news and this has worked 100% of the time.
Another reason I don't watch the news is because it breeds fear... They only focus on the bad stories. People who watch the news too much usually have a poor opinion of people in general and are paranoid around the world around them.

I watch the noon news (30 mins with one channel, 30 mins with a second channel). Then at 6 pm, I listen to the TV news that is simulcast on a local radio station. I answered once a day, as I only WATCH it once. <tee-hee>

I watch the news multiple times a day. The weather here in Alabama is so unpredictable so I tend to watch to see what's changed. Plus some of the stories are interesting on 6 on your side.

More legit and balanced than the major stations. They also look at the major stories in the news. I count it.

Mostly Daily Show, Maddow, and a handful of indie sources online. I will say it's pretty shameful when satire programs are more spot on than the general news. This goes for The Onion as well.

I watch the 700 Club if I want to hear the real news, and I watch the rest of them for the weather. The main channels, with the possible exception of Fox, print what they're told, too many gaps between real life and what they're reporting. They're too biased, and I believe they've been bought. Unless you want to hear about the most recent murder or disaster, or if you want to check the weather, it's a total waste of time.

Fox News is more fair and balanced than all the others combined. Anyone who says otherwise are only repeating the rhetoric fed to them.
