9. Maverik Adventure Club

Maverik’s Adventure Club rewards app combines the rewards of the Adventure Club account and the Nitro account. Use the app to toggle between the accounts, and earn $0.02 per gallon using the Adventure Club account or $0.06 per gallon using a Nitro account. Redeem your earnings for free swag in store. Even signing up will get you a free fountain drink. 

10. Costco Gasoline Cash Back Rewards

If you belong to the wholesale club Costco (or you’re thinking about purchasing a Costco membership), the gas rewards will more than pay for your membership. There are two ways that you save money. Costco gas stations (located next to the wholesale clubs) always have the lowest legal price in state for gas. 

According to apartment therapy.com, gas at Costco is on average 21-cents cheaper than at other gas stations. You do need to be a member of Costco in order to get gas at this retailer. Gold status (base level) members and executive (top tier) members are eligible. (If you’re not a member, you can join Costco via Swagbucks and earn 450 SB ($4.50) cash back bonus from Swagbucks and receive a $30 Costco shop card (or gift card) for your new account opening. Gold status or gold star membership also occasionally goes on sale.

Costco always has the cheapest, legal gas prices in state. The gas savings are so sweet that they will more than pay for your Costco membership within just a few months of switching your gas station spending to this warehouse club.

In addition to Costco membership, you can earn even more rewards with the Costco Anywhere Visa Card. This Visa card is for Costco members only, and it’s one of the best gas rewards credit cards you’ll find. You’ll earn cash back rewards on gas anywhere that Visa is accepted. Additionally, drivers will always save up to 5-cents off per gallon at the pump and cardholders earn bonuses and rewards for every dollar spent. 

16. Safeway just for U Gas Rewards

Earn points for shopping at Safeway that you can redeem for gas rewards. Earn 1 point for every dollar you spend on grocery and pharmacy purchases and earn 2 points for every dollar you spend on gift cards. 100 points = 1 reward. Each 1 reward = 10-cents savings on gas (per gallon). It’s 1 point for every dollar you spend on grocery or pharmacy or 2 points for every dollar you spend on gift cards. Every 100 points can be redeemed for 1 reward. Each 1 reward is good for 10-cents off per gallon at participating Chevron gas stations.

18. Harris Teeter Fuel Points

Earn fuel points when you shop Harris Teeter with your VIC or loyalty card. Also, if you purchase a non-federally funded prescription with your VIC card, each prescription equals 50 fuel points. You can earn gas rewards at Chevron when you download the new Chevron app. Download the free app, and link your Techron Advantage Credit card, PayPal, Venmo, or your own personal credit card. If you participate in the Albertsons Reward Points program (or other grocery store gas rewards program), you can link your rewards ID# in the app. You can also store Chevron gift cards and Visa gift cards in there too.

  • Penfed Platinum Rewards Visa. The card is issued by Penfed Credit Union, but you don’t need to be a member of the credit union to apply now for it. Earn 1 point for every dollar you spend, with 5 points for every dollar you spend at the pump. Points can be redeemed for gift cards, merchandise, hotels, and other deals. While there isn’t a set redemption rewards rate, a point’s value is about 1-cent to 1 1/2 cents per point. While redemption rewards are not as straightforward as other programs, earning 5x points on fuel makes it an extremely generous reward. 
  • Bank of America Visa also offers generous bonus rewards for gas purchases. You can earn 3% cash back for the category of your choice (like gas, online shopping, dining, travel, home improvement, and other options), 2% back on grocery store purchases and wholesale clubs like Sam’s Club, and 1% cash back on all other purchases. 
  • Sam’s Club offers such great savings on gasoline that some people join this popular warehouse club just for the gas discounts. Unlike the other gas credit cards we’ve mentioned, it’s not a credit card. It’s a member discount you get with your card. You don’t need to worry about your credit score or other similar requirements to sign up. A Sam’s Club membership costs $45 per year.
