I used to dislike the idea of e-books because I didn't think it could possible feel the same as holding an actual book. After my dad gave me a Nook, though, I've learned to love both. As other people have said, I love being able to have a lot of books with me at all times. And since so many great works are in the public domain, you can get them for free and read them whenever.

There's still that feeling of curling up on the sofa with an old-fashioned book, though. That's just special. :)

Either way, I think I'm gonna have to get at least 1 of these cards.

At least you can buy something other than an e-book with the e-card. I agree with what you said about the books though!

I won both Physical Books and iBooks and I have to say that both are arguably favourable in their own ways. iBooks/eBooks are easier to transport and cheaper to purchase, they also have added features such as highlighters, dictionaries etc. However Physical books are less vulnerable to electronic faults and more realistic in terms of holding the actual book whilst you enter a different world.

But lets gets be reasonable here people- Books are Books and whether they be electronic or paper they still serve the same purpose :)

I like both as well. My home is full of books, and right now I have two books going... actually three. (Don't ask.) One is on my kindle, one is a physical book from my own library, and the other is also a physical book from the public library. Some times I do want to hold that book in my hand/take it outside/etc. Other times I really appreciate being able to bring loads of books with me some place.... and not have them take up a lot of room. Funny, though, every now and then I catch myself hovering over a word in my book, about to tap and hold for a definition, and then I catch myself... and remember that I can't do that with a real book! LOL. Yay books! E-or-other! =)

I think I'm in the minority because I love physical books and Ebooks. I like holding physical books and nothing can top the smell and flipping the pages. I was so sad when Borders went bankrupt and I don't like how bookstore and libraries are disappearing. I love Ebooks because of the convenience and the prices. I like how I can have a bookshelf full of books with me instead of carrying an armful of books with me. I like how a lot of the books I want are cheaper than physical books. If I'm unsure if I'll love a book I can get it cheaper.
on 09/24/12
very true, i think the same... didn't like it when bookstores go bankrupt... i enjoy having and reading physical books... used to wait every year in school to get new books and read them out :) novels, or any books for me love to have them in hand and read turning pages... i am making it a point to get to barnes and noble when i can....

Just snagged a couple of these to use for Christmas gift cards (got some last time they were Braggable Bargain, too so I'll have a fair amount for my book-loving family)...I hope to snag two more tomorrow before the BB changes! Thanks, Swagbucks!

UMM- what lowered price... this is the normal price for the card. I think they forgot to do the usual thing lowerig it into the 500's. Or at least its what I remember it being. And they usually show the discount, which is neither here or in the normal listing.
WHAT GOES SWAGPEOPLE?? please let me know because i'd be interested if the price were right.
on 07/27/12
It looks like the 50 dollar card is the one on sale today. Maybe they just accidentally linked it to the wrong gift card.
on 07/27/12
To answer the 2 question from a swaggernauts point of view.. I have never been able to purchase more than 2 a day on any of the braggables. BUT since its friday, this one will be good until Monday morning. You would be able to purchase two each of the days it was active. Not sure if you can before it changes on monday, but I think so. You could try anyway. But i suggest you wait till later in the day to see if they make a price adjustment.
on 07/27/12
Yeah, I was wondering what gives with this one anyway. I'm not interested in the card, but I was wondering what they would lower the price down to. So far they haven't lowered the price. And yeah, I think you can purchase two a day (as long as you have enough swagbucks) for the entire weekend until you hit the max of five gift cards.
on 06/27/12
I'd like to buy a book for my sister Tova with this card. She likes to read books about American Culture.
on 04/24/12
Are you only allowed to purchase 1 of these at that lowered price?
on 06/27/12
The same "2 per day max" rule as all other prizes. You can buy 2 this afternoon and 2 tomorrow morning though.

OK. I agree that both have types of books have their place. I love a real physical book, but have you ever tried to take one to the gym and prop it up on one of those little magazine-thickness holders on a piece of aerobics exercise equipment. The worst are thick paperbacks. A nook, kindle or ipad all fit nicely in those slots, never close on you and turning pages is easier. On the other hand, I sure wouldn't want to study some topic on an ebook. I love highlighting, making notes, etc. I just wish real text and technical books didn't cost an arm and a leg.

(WARNING: Rant!!!) I'm serious, I'm getting sick and tired of e-books! Half of all the book stores in the area closed down and it's even come to the point where people can't just say "book" anymore, it's now "KINDLE" or "NOOK"! And when I search for a new book to buy, I can't do it without finding a heap load of "NOOKS" before the actual BOOKS! -Dr. Seuss (lol)

Nice books. :P

Totally agree. My son HAD to buy an ebook because his campus bookstore did not order hard copies of one of his texts. When he was working on a paper, the system went down for maintenence and he couldn't get his citations!! Luckily, the prof, who HATES e-books as well, gave him a hard copy of the text. Paper is never down for mainenence!

Yeah that's so so so true. what if you get a virus on it? then no books. real books can't just disappear.

I wish I could say I agree. It's always great to have a physical book but then I think about the cost efficiency of e-books and the number of trees we're saving. Not to mention how much we're saving in energy and water from not having to recycle. :)

Yeah, but think about your eyesight, having to be glued to a screen all the time just to read. Plus, that's not to mention all the other times during the day you're in front of some type of screen.

I completely agree. I miss the good ole days when people cared about books and CDs. You would get home with your purchase, check out the artwork on the cover and have something real in your hands to enjoy. It's sad that I'm barely 31 years old and have to refer to something being in the "good ole days" but it's true.

I agree with you! I'm almost 23 and I prefer physical books as well. Electronic books just don't cut it for me. There's just something reassuring about the weight of a physical book in my hand. Or something.

I'm fourteen, and I agree with you. My church hates digital books as well. They keep telling everybody to stick to hard, physical copies of anything, especially the Bible, and "digital copies are disguises set up by the devil to lure you into worldly things."

This is my one of my favorite prizes from the Swag Store! The only thing is I wish it appeared faster in my account. Sometimes I'll have my eye on a book and I'll have to wait an extra 10 days until I can get the gift card. I shouldn't complain though, I'm getting all these books for free!
on 08/08/11
Can these codes be used to buy a nook?
on 10/06/11
Description says only 3 can be used per order don't think that three of these will get a nook. :)
on 01/12/12
You can use more than 3 codes you just have to call barns and noble customer service for them to enter the rest for you. That's what it says in the description of the gift card.
